Breathe

Stress is a very bad  thing and can seriously damage your body. It can manifest itself in some very strange ways and cause very real and physical pain. Over my not so long life I have realized that there are in fact ways to manage said stress. It is very important to manage stress and a good way to do this is to regularly practice the excersizes found on this list.

See Below :)

1.) Breath

Now. While it is not necessarily imparitive that you go and stand on a beach with your arms heald high in the air while the wind whips at your hair, it is important to know that taking deep breaths can seriously help relieve stress. Taking deep breaths will cause more oxygen to flow through your blood and in turn allow your body to function more freely.

2.) Listen to Music

Music is truly an amazing thing. It has the power to alter our emotions in such a way that at times it can either make or break them. For this reason I have found that it is important to listen to the appropriate music at the right time. Have you ever been in a really bad mood and then al of a sudden a really sad song comes on the radio and it seems to only enhance your negative feelings. Turn the radio off if this happens! Some of these songs might be great. They might be really beautiful but their is a time and place for a song like this. Like when your in a really good mood and a song like this wont effect how you are feeling. I have found that the best music to listen to while trying to alleviate stress is music without lyrics that reflects the sounds of nature. Something thats not going to get stuck in your head but will simply allow you to focus on excersize number 1, Breathing!

3.Go outside!

Now I get it.... Not everyone has this in there back yard....  I know i dont! But there are pleanty of places you can go just to relax. For instance. Go to your local community park or maybe to a nice quiet botanic garden. Sometimes in life you have to realize that it is not all about you. What seems like a really big deal to you in the grande scheme of things probably isnt that big of a deal. Life is like a circle. And realizing this will get you much farther in life than you think. You will have your ups and your downs but what you have to realize is that after your down will come another up. So go outside and relish in the beauty all around you. Look at all of the little birds in the trees, the squirells collecting their nuts, the fish hopping through the stream etc. Note how all of these things have their own lives and their own problems and that to them those problems are likely the end of the world to. You are not the only person in the world with problems! Period. Life goes on. So go outside soak up that sunshine or whatever weather you happen to be experiencing that day. If its raining! Hell. Dance in the rain! If its snowing. Build a snowman! If its storming, if your in a hurricane or even if your dodging baseball sized hail embrace the world for all its worth.

4.) Laugh!

Just let go and lighten up. Laughing in my opinion is the best form of healing you will ever undergo. Its better than all of the antibiotics in the world.

5.) Surround yourself with good friends

Remember that you are not alone. And though good friends can be hard to come by. Once you have them. No matter how long you dont talk, or how many fights you've had, the good ones ( that matter) will always be there when you need them.

6.) Drink water, and eat right!

Your body was meant to eat these foods! Not big macs and french fries. Its allright to treat yourself to some junk food maybe once in a while but sometimes I wonder why its even necessary at all. The stuff above can be pretty good.

Ahhhhh..... the source of all life. This substance that we all seem to take for granted. We shower in it, cook with it, swim in it but often times we forget to use it to its true potential and drink it. Water allows your cells to heal and repair themselves and lets your body fight off disease and protect itself against foreign substances. Only makes sense to me that if I want to have a long, healthy life its probably not a bad idea to start at the root of life itself.

7.) Ditch the coffee, grab the tea...

Coffee.... Societies worste idea ever... well maybe after bull riding.... ( I mean really people, this thing is mad and wants to kill you)

Coffee has a lot of caffiene. Caffiene=Stress!
Society has gotten so out of control with everything being "go go go. Work work work. Busy busy busy!" that we need artificial energy boosters to go on with our daily routines. Stop!

Try tea! Tea has about half the caffiene of coffee and certain teas (Usually herbal ones) are far healthier for you and can actually relax you.

8.) Sleep

Someting I should probably consider right about now.....

7-8 hours at least. Best stress reliever available.

9.) Finally. Excersize

You dont have to go all crazy and drag your butt to the gym every morning. Just simply move your body! Strech, go on a walk. Get all that blood flowing and release your endorphins.

Remember. No matter how overwhelmed you might get just realize that life goes on and one way or another everything will work out in the end.
