So, for about five months ago I became the proud owner of a class D drivers license and will in the near future obtain my class C drivers license. For those of you that dont know ,and not that it matters much, a class D drivers license is according to the Georgia Department Of Driver's Services "a provisional license for Class C vehicles that may not operated between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m." So while I am capable of dragging my butt all over wherever it is I need to go I am somewhat limited as to when I can do so. That being said. During my five months of driving I have learned that even though I love my car, driving it isnt all that its cracked up to be. The following is a list of the things that really annoy me about the driving world.
. People who decide that its a great idea to slow down there car in the middle of a busy rode to role down there windows to look at scenery. Like... what could possibly be so fascinating that we need to go 30 in a 60 zone? I mean really?
. BICYCLES!!!!! Now nothing against bikers and all but ive never understood why people who ride there bikes insist on riding in the middle of the road. I mean crossing the street is fine, whatever... you need to get to the other side i get it. However, driving with the trafic ( though it is perfectly legal ) only drastically slows down the traffic flow and increases the bikers risk of being hit. Use the bike path!
. Now this one is something that my technical theatre teacher mentioned at the beginning of freshman year and i never really considered it because i hadn't started driving yet but... Apparently some people have a hard time registering what a green light signifies and how they should respond to it. Its like they sit there and think ,quote "Oh look a green light. How nice. Hmmm. Well. I guess i'll just give it a little gas" and by the time the three people in front of you decide to go the light turns red again.
. Road kill has alway's bugged me but when you are not driving you tend not to pay attention to it. However, now that I am driving I always feel so sad when i see these poor little animals curled up on the side of the road waiting to become carrion for some bussard. The worst is when I see a dog or a cat because for a few minutes I am not sure what to. Should I help it if its still moving ,or find an owner, or just keep driving?
. Finally, merging lanes has never been my forte. Although, I am getting much better. I hate how people feel the need to try and race you to be the one who is in front of you. YOU WONT GET THERE ANY FASTER!
Well. First blog post down! YES! Guess I should go topic hunting... and find some clever witty commentary to make.
